A handbook "Evaluating the impact of nature-based solutions"


A new handbook was published by the European Commission on the 5th of May. Dr. Julita Skodra contributed to several sections of the handbook and was a coordinating lead author of the Chapter 2 (Principles guiding NbS performance and impact evaluation).

Statement on the Covid-19 Pandemic


The statement of the "Zukunftsforum Public Health" on the COVID-19 pandemic has been published. In a statement, members of the steering Group have published recommendations for coping with the long-term consequences of the pandemic.

Institute for Urban Public Health


The 'Centre for Urban Epidemiology' (CUE) became the Institute for Urban Public Health (InUPH) on 01.05.2020. The support of the Fritz and Hildegard Berg-Stiftung has made it possible to establish the Institute, whose overarching goal is to investigate scientific questions for an evidence-based, participatory design of a health-promoting and sustainable urban Environment.

Funding


The Centre for Urban Epidemiology (CUE) was successful in the two-stage selection procedure for the Fritz und Hildegard Berg Stiftung's call "City of the Future – Healthy, sustainable metropolises: New Ways to improve the Dialogue between Science and Civil Society". The funds will be used to support the establishment of a new institute at the Medical Faculty in Essen, which will specifically address the inter- and transdisciplinary tasks for the innovative field of Urban Public Health.
