• Leitung des Schwerpunkts Personalisierte Tumortherapie (W3-Professur) einschließlich der Leitung des Bereichs Frühe Klinische Studien (Phase I)
• Arbeitsgruppenleiter Translationale Sarkomforschung
• Leiter Sarkomschwerpunkt der Inneren Klinik (Tumorforschung)
• Ärztlicher Sprecher des Sarkomzentrums am Westdeutschen Tumorzentrum
• Leiter Schwerpunkt Aderhautmelanome (Internistisch Onkologie)

Klinische Forschungschwerpunkte:

• Klinische Studien zu medikamentösen Therapien bei Weichteilsarkomen einschließlich Gastrointestinale Stromatumoren (GIST)

• Therapieoptimierungsstudien bei Knochen- und Weichteilsarkomen

• Prognosefaktoren insb. f. multimodale Therapieansätzen bei Weichteilsarkomen einschließich GIST

• Studien zu Aderhautmelanomen

• Frühe klinische Studien zur personalisierten Tumortherapie

Präklinische Forschungsschwerpunkte:

• Entwicklung neuartiger zielgerichteter Therapiestrategien für GIST

• Identifikation von Resistenzmechanismen gegenüber zielgerichteten Therapien bei GIST

• Entwicklung von präklinischen Modellen bei Sarkomen
