If you don’t have your own bike with you, it is possible to rent one from «metropolradruhr» . Stations for the Metropolrad Ruhr are located at the main train station in Essen, as well as near the Colonia House at «Rüttenscheider Stern» und «Landgericht».
For the trip by bike from the main train station to Colonia House via Rüttenscheider Street plan on about 12 minutes travel time.
Bicycles can be safely parked in our bike garage in the back courtyard of the Colonia House.

Visitors arriving by plane must first take the Skytrain from the terminal to the train station "Dusseldorf Airport". From there, you can either take RE1, RE2 and RE6 (about 22-25 minutes) and S1 (37 minutes) to Essen Central Station (see "Getting there by public transport from Essen central station).
