Focus areas

The clinic offers cardiac procedures such as bypass and heart valve surgeries, as well as endovascular treatments of the thoracic aorta (stenting). Endoscopic valve surgery, implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators.

The clinic has a program in cooperation with Ruhrlandklinik for transplanting thoracic organs, including the implantation of artificial hearts. The clinic provides the preparation and execution of heart and lung transplants, as well as follow-up care coordinating therapy and check-ups.

Other focus areas are emergency and intensive care of patients with heart disease, the surgical treatment of malignant and benign neoplasms of the lungs, of lower respiratory tract diseases, and of accident injuries.

The clinic employs 29 physicians including 12 specialists in thoracic surgery, cardiac surgery, general surgery, anesthesiology, general medicine and intensive medicine.

There are 60 nurses, 24% of whom have advanced specialized training in the clinics fields.
