Fields of Research

  • Activation of the transcription factor complex hypoxia-inducible factor 1
  • Importance of oxygen dependent gene expression in the interactions of endothelium and monocytes during tumor vascularization
  • Importance of reactive species of oxygen and nitrogen in the function of cellular oxygen sensors and in muscle repair
  • Use of tissue-specific knockout models
  • Molecular imaging of protein-protein interactions using fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) technology

 

Teaching activities

Participation in curricular teaching of medical students, of medical biology (B. Sc.), and chemistry (M. Sc.) with a focus in medical-biological chemistry.
