RUHR School 2017


The 1st RUHR School of Modern Epidemiology took place from August 30th to September 1st in Essen and focused on the topic of “Principles of Cancer Epidemiology”. At the three-day event Prof. Dr. med. Andreas Stang, MPH, head of the Center of Clinical Epidemiology at the University Hospital in Essen, gave intriguing lectures and led discussions on:

 

  • Incidence and causes of various cancer diseases
  • Biological and clinical concepts of cancer diseases
  • Classifications of neoplasia
  • Crude, age-specific, and age-standardized rates
  • Early recognition of cancer diseases

A total of 46 national and international students and scientists attended the 1st RUHR School of Modern Epidemiology.
