As a postdoctoral researcher, Katrin Paldan works at the competence center Personal Analytics. The Competence Center Personal Analytics is an interdisciplinary junior research group funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The research focus is on human-technology interaction for demographic change. The team consists of scientists from the fields of computer science, cognitive science, electrical engineering, health science and philosophy.

 

PAnalytics

Digital innovations such as smartphones or wearables accompany the daily lives of many people and are increasingly penetrating the healthcare market. Mobile hardware enables the measurement of body as well as environmental data and is the basis for health-related self-monitoring applications. In the project PAnalytics interdisciplinary research is carried out on the conception, implementation and evaluation of a personalized self-monitoring application for healthy aging. The focus in the health sciences is on the conception and evaluation of technical analysis and support systems for the prevention of lifestyle-induced diseases.

Technostress

By the term technostress we mean the perceived stress of employees in organizations triggered by the use of information and communication technologies. A focus is on the analysis of stress-inducing technologies and the identification of requirements for possible solutions on the technical, organizational or individual level, as well as derived intervention measures. The chosen user-centered methodology with Design Thinking elements focus on the needs and requirements of users in different setting (for example, in the workplace).
