Student Assistant

SALVE stands for acoustic quality and health in urban areas. Our innovative project deals with the investigation of the various noises, sounds or tones in a city and their possible effects on human health.


Your tasks:

Manual noise measurements/audio recordings in Bochum (1-2 days/week á 6-8 hours)

Installation of automatic measuring instruments in Bochum

Data input and management (in Essen)

General activities (in Essen)


Your profile

Great readiness for field measurements in Bochum in "wind and weather".

Versatile interests and enjoyment of working on interdisciplinary and innovative projects

Flexible and self-reliant


Enjoys dealing with people and has communication skills

Safe handling of common office software (Word, Excel, Outlook)


Helpful, but by no means a prerequisite:

Organisational experience

Interest in the application and linking of technology-oriented noise and acoustics topics

First experiences with the topic noise and/or acoustics

Experience with Geoinformation Systems (e.g. ArcGIS)

Driving licence
